TariffMonkee is not run by an anonymous team behind a logo. It is built and operated by one named person with verifiable credentials, and that is deliberate: when an API is going to tell your agent what content to trust, you should know exactly who stands behind the verdict.
Why the credentials matter here
I hold the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional, ISC2) and CISM (Certified Information Security Manager, ISACA), the two certifications the security industry itself uses to qualify the people who assess risk, and the PMP (Project Management Professional, PMI) for delivering systems that actually ship. My background is cybersecurity and systems integration.
That matters most for what is coming next: TariffMonkee's trust tools, including supply-chain scanning for MCP servers and agent skills. The agentic web has a growing verification problem, and security verdicts are only worth what the assessor's judgment is worth. What is TariffMonkee?
A catalog of small, single-purpose web APIs that AI agents discover and pay for per call, in USDC, over the x402 protocol. No accounts and no API keys: the HTTP 402 response itself carries the price, and any x402-capable client can pay it and get the result in seconds. The catalog starts with content tools (rendered pages, screenshots, PDFs, extraction, search, and multi-source research, including a Traditional Chinese / Taiwan search lane) and grows from there.
The operator behind it
TariffMonkee is a US company, built and run from Taichung, Taiwan. I
also operate two other businesses: Uptick Co, a Google Workspace
automation practice, and MapRankd, a local SEO service, which is part
of why local business tooling is on the TariffMonkee roadmap. I build
everything here myself, and this site practices what the catalog sells:
the structured data, llms.txt, and crawler policy on this domain are
